150 Ways To Move More
Before creating The Play Book, I struggled with writing it even though I knew if it helped ONE person, it was better out of my head and onto paper.
I was confident I could lead others who wanted to learn how to incorporate more movement into their day to boost their energy and vitality with fun as they aged.
Every “exercise” book out there seemed to be “telling” people how to get fit without giving them the tools to create and execute it for themselves for life.
Over the past few years, my self-doubt has quelled as people have used my “Play Book” as the catalyst for better health and more joy.
Sometimes, it can be lonely when you feel like you’re the only one “preaching” the importance of play.
Last week, I found my people.
I attended my first live face-to-face conference in Washington, DC, at “The Physical Activity Alliance Symposium – Moving Policy for an Active Society.”
Over 100 people came together to tackle problems and brainstorm solutions for getting more people moving for better health.
As you can imagine, I was like a kid in a candy store – so happy to be a part of a powerful day of thought-provoking conversations, community, collaboration and communication.
Thought leaders are ready to help change the face of exercise so it’s accessible to everyone. Woohoo!
What struck me most is, now more than ever, the vast opportunity to sell hope in movement.
Rather than focusing on the problem of inactivity, the key is inspiring people to get moving!
Everyone needs opportunities throughout the day to move more, sit less and thrive.
It sounds like a lot, but it’s only 22 minutes a day, and it doesn’t have to be done all at once or in the gym! For real!
Need inspiration?
If you don’t have it already, I want you to have my list of 150 Ways To Move More from my book and let me know what you will start experimenting with… make it fun, and you will show up again and again – joy, improved health and longevity included.
Play on!
