Laying the foundation

Laying the foundation

Laying the foundation

By Published On: January 12th, 2024

A crew started some work in our backyard this week.

We are finishing our patio – the final phase of our renovations that began in 2021.

Laying the foundation of building something new takes time, but it’s worth it once you see the progress.

And why start in the winter for your patio?

Like starting a new habit – any time can be a good time because it allows you to focus on positive changes without waiting for a specific moment.

It’s a lot like watching what’s been happening with RED January’s launch in Canada.

Starting something new and building awareness around it is a slow and steady process.

RED is a simple concept… get moving in January for a healthy (mind and body) start to your year.

A 10-minute walk, climbing stairs vs escalators, and starting training for a bigger personal goal. No barriers… anyone can join.

RED is the habit of play at its finest.

Taking baby steps every day – small, simple actions that you can do over and over again.

The point is laying the keystone foundation of moving your way every day in a way that makes sense to you is like a magic pill for your health.

Hopefully, you have signed up.

There is still time, by the way.

Follow along on our Instagram as more and more people rediscover the joy and fun of daily physical activity that boosts their social, mental, and physical well-being.

Together, we can help Canadians (and the world) be a happier and healthier place through play.

And I’ll keep you posted on the patio progress. One day at a time!

Play on!
