The hidden benefits of an easter egg hunt
In my personal opinion, the holidays that have the most chocolate attached to them are the best!
Did you know that seven holidays officially have chocolate tied to them?
According to the Ross chocolate website * they are:
- Valentines Day
- Halloween
- Diwali
- The Day of The Dead
- Hanukkah
- Christmas
- Easter
What goes better with easter chocolate than an easter egg hunt?
No one loves an Easter egg hunt more than my Mother.
A couple of years ago, my Mom put my Dad in charge of hiding the eggs for my kids.
He did such a great job; we continued to find them years later in unexpected places like the fireplace in the living room that luckily was never set on fire!
Easter egg hunts allow you to get as creative as you want.
Maybe make an obstacle course.
Or hide the eggs a little bit higher and out of reach, so you have to jump up to get them.
Perhaps hide them down low, so you have to squat.
Buy the biggest ones, and then it’s like weight lifting!
If you don’t have eggs to hide, you can always pick something else like painted sticks, rocks or even wrap tinfoil on pennies.
Just because you are playing doesn’t mean you have to restrict any food groups.
Sometimes, doing things for the heck of it matters more than looking for the health benefits.
The health benefits are enjoying life.
The point is, you can play and eat your chocolate too.
These are the hidden benefits of an easter egg hunt:)
We are all discovering ways, in times like these, to find joy.
And there is no better way than through play!
