This is your wake-up call

This is your wake-up call

By Published On: January 22nd, 2021

With the pandemic, we’ve all be through nothing short of a collective wake-up call.

Covid-19 has exposed the cracks in our collective systems and individual routines, and this is especially true when it comes to how we approach our health.

Now, more than ever, people appreciate just how much our physical and mental health is the most precious resources we own.

When life gets crazy and responsibilities at home and work pile on one top of the other, it’s easy to let our health and fitness slip.

The years go by, and we don’t even realize how much our health has been affected.

It often takes a wake-up call to motivate change.

Sometimes it can come from a shock. Other times it can come from a slow and steady decline.

Personally, I’ve come to my profession in health and wellness because I’ve been through both.

My first was when I was 24 years old.

I spent many of my teenage years struggling with painful ovarian cysts. They’d come and go, and I learned to pretty much live with them – a slow and steady decline.

Little did I know the price I’d pay for ignoring my warning signs.

What resulted was a ruptured ovarian torsion and internal bleeding, which required life-saving surgery six weeks before my wedding.

I vowed never to take my health for granted again.

I’ve also come close to losing my life instantly (along with my family) in accidents for which I’ve had no control.

I’m still here and on a mission to reignite people’s passion for play to fight chronic disease while improving their quality of life as they age.

Am I perfect? Of course not!

But I live with gratitude every day because I don’t HAVE to take care of my health; I GET to.

I help people change their habits, and have fun!

When clients come to me for health coaching, some of them have had a wake-up call; others are just ready to stop the “quick-fix” mentality and finally make sustainable, lasting change.

What matters most is that you find the kind of healthy habits that bring you joy and keep doing that – your life depends on it.

Play on!
